Dentures and Partials Options for Missing Teeth
Monday, October 20th, 2008If you have lost some or all of your teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, dentures (false teeth) can replace your missing teeth and give you your smile back. Replacing missing teeth with dentures will benefit both your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag and make a person look older.
With dentures, you will be able to enjoy food again and speak much more clearly, two things often taken for granted until natural teeth are lost. When you have missing teeth, it is important to replace them to maintain a healthy smile and not prevent remaining teeth from drifting into the empty spaces.
Advances in cosmetic dentistry have made many improvements in dentures. Dentures are now more natural-looking and much more comfortable than they used to be.
Dentures can be complete or partial; complete dentures cover your entire upper and lower jaw and partials replace one or a few teeth.
Complete Dentures
There are various types of complete dentures. A conventional full denture is made and placed in the patient

Endometriosis Symptoms Improved By Reducing Use Of Chemicals In Household Cleaners
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008Endometriosis Symptoms Improved By Reducing Use Of Chemicals In Household Cleaners
By: Carolyn Levett
Women have reported that when they reduce the amount of chemical based toiletries and household cleaning products, they begin to see a reduction in their symptoms of endometriosis.
In this article we will be looking at how you can start to get rid of all those toxic chemicals in your home, which you use as a matter of course every day to keep your home clean.
How does this help women with Endometriosis! ….. By reducing the number of different chemicals you are exposed to, which can be absorbed by your body, you will give your body a much better chance to function properly, for your immune system NOT to be put under stress, and improve your chances of healing.
You may be unaware of some of the toxins you are absorbing from the outside environment. And what is worse …. you have no control of this exposure. It is caused by industry emitting billions of tons of fumes, cars churning out noxious poisonous fumes, and agriculture spewing out millions of gallons of pesticides and organo-phosphates. Most of these toxins are invisible, and some of them you cannot detect with your sense of smell. They are insidious, highly dangerous to all life on earth, and we are all starting to pay the price now.
Because endometriosis seems to be such a modern epidemic, it only takes common sense and simple logic to realise that what is happening in our environment and what is happening to reproductive health around the world, that these two things are undoubtedly linked.
These environmental chemicals are wreaking havoc on the health of humans, animals and plant life alike. In humans, it is women and children who are most susceptible to these pollutants
Choosing the Best Size Breast Implants For Your Body
Sunday, September 14th, 2008Women who are considering breast implants must consider what size breast implants will provide them with the look they desire, without compromising a natural-looking body contour.
“All too often women choose breast implants that look too big for their body, causing their breasts to look unnaturally large,” says Dr. Douglas Hendricks in Newport Beach, California. “The right size breast implant can provide you with the body shape that you have always wanted.”
For many women, breast implants can provide a welcome improvement in the contour of their body as well as a boost in self-confidence. Choosing breast implants that are too large can cause your body to look unnatural.
The best way to determine the best size breast implants for your body is to schedule an initial consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon. An initial consultation is a time for you to meet the plastic surgeon and ask questions about the breast surgery you are considering.
Also, the initial consultation is a time for the plastic surgeon to evaluate your body size and type in order to determine what size breast implants will provide you with the results you want, but also look natural.
It is always a good idea to come to your initial consultation knowing what you would like to achieve with breast implants. Many plastic surgeons request that their patients wear bras with padding to get an idea of what they will look like with their new breasts.
If you are considering breast implants, contact a plastic surgeon near you. During your initial consultation, you will be able to learn more about breast implants, as well as find out what size breast implant is right for you.

Saline vs. Silicone Gel Implants
Saturday, September 13th, 2008Any woman considering breast implants, whether for breast augmentation, breast lift, or other procedure, will be faced with the question of which type of breast implant she is going to choose. Although there are restrictions on their use, silicone breast implants are still an option many women are considering over traditional saline breast implants.
“I use both saline breast implants as well as silicone breast implants at Pacifica Cosmetic Surgery Center,” says Dr. Douglas Hendricks in Newport Beach, California. “Many women prefer the feel of silicone breast implant over saline implants.”
The difference between saline and silicone breast implants is the material with which each type of breast implant is filled. All breast implants are made with a silicone shell, but saline implants are filled with a sterile salt-water solution, while silicone implants are filled with a silicone gel.
Many plastic surgeons and breast augmentation patients believe that silicone breast implants are more lifelike; allowing the breast to feel and look more natural than it would with saline breast implants.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration), however, banned the use of silicone breast implants in 1992 because they were linked to various connective tissue disorders (CTDs). Now, however, cohesive gel silicone breast implants are available under restricted situations and only to a handful of plastic surgeons.
Cohesive gel silicone breast implants were developed in response to older silicone implants being tied to harmful CTDs. If a silicone implant were to rupture with cohesive gel, the gel would not leak out into the body. Cohesive gel holds its integrity and its shape, even if the breast implant shell breaks.
“I am proud to be one of the few plastic surgeons in the country to provide my patients with the ability to use silicone breast implants,” says Dr. Hendricks in California. “As long as my patients meet the requirements, they have the ability to use silicone breast implants in their breast surgery.”
Saline implants, on the other hand, have been tested and proven to be perfectly harmless. Hundreds of thousands of women each year choose to receive a variety of different types of saline implants.
The saline solution that fills saline breast implants will not harm the body at all if the implant ruptures. Also, saline breast implants are used by all plastic surgeons that perform breast surgeries.
If you are considering breast surgery, contact an experienced plastic surgeon near you. During your initial consultation, you will be able to find out if you should use silicone or saline breast implants.
